Birthday with Inner Peace 2020

So, with the change of winds and change in perspective.. I had wowed last month itself that I am going to make the changes I want to see within myself starting now. This included being positive about a lot of things.. Even if the ugliness keeps creeping up every now n then! 😄😄

And what better day than one's birthday to boost up that determination?!!

On the eve itself I knew the dress shopping that I so enthusiastically did for this Birthday is not going to be fruitful as J had fallen sick with a bang. But It was alright. :-) A beautiful necklace gift by a very dear friend pepped me up just! And of course my sweet mom was the 1st one to wish me dot at 12'o clock! With the chirpy, happy wishes of papa, sis n BIL - I put myself to snooze just like any other day..

However, N was excited and couldn't be more chirpier on 5th :-D She woke up quickly unlike every day.. and gave me a hand-made birthday card. Before I could ask how come she managed to make it in 5 minutes after waking up, she said she had made it days ago when I wasn't at home and hid it. I had to settle my antennae by telling myself - "Its Ok, Helicopter Mom." She meant well :-D 

Needless to say - I loved it! Just the hand-written note was full of love n affection.. 💖💖

There was 1 more surprise .. As soon as I went to her room- she played 'Happy Birthday to You' on Alexa which was all set n planned n just waiting for me! It was the awwwwwww moment of the day! Bless her little heart to have put in so much thought for me! 💗💗

Off she went to school and the day rolled by.. My phone kept ringing, buzzing and chiming the entire day and it was difficult to keep up pace with all the beautiful wishes but I love them.. as they make me feel so special so I wanted to reply to each asap. In spite of all the cooking (which I otherwise hate to do on my b'day), I was alright. :-) Not only that - my earlier plan to go out on lunch with my friends had also gone into the wind as I didn't want to leave J alone sick at home. He urged me to to.. but being the good wifey I didn't .. 🙆

Afternoon came in the form of a surprise chocolate cake delivered at home by a very dear friend.. It looked like a  a crime to cut a delicious looking cake alone! So was looking forward to the evening when N was home along with her buddies who are always happy to be together. When the door bell rang, I expected my friend S and N's friend, but to my surprise it was 3 of my other friends with whom I had planned the lunch! They just showed up to wish me, along with S !! 💙💚💛💜 This day just got better :-D and DH u were saved!! 😁😁

As the kids affectionately coloured my face with chocolate cake (Yes! That's the secret of my glowing skin 😉 ) I was happy to be just be there amongst people who care for me!! :-) After nonsense poses of pix to point that they almost feel mortifying today 😂😂😂, we enjoyed chips, coffee n cake amongst squeals of laughter. 

NOO we were not being naughty! When the hubby is coughing too much and can't eat the cake - You apply yours to him :-D

1 thing that I am really proud of - is my sweet little N is growing and just like her teacher often says - 'Her heart is in the right place!' (proud mommy grin) She so wanted to go out and celebrate my birthday in a nice restaurant being a foodie. But I only had to remind her once that Dad is unwell, and she just magically waved away her disappointment! Bless her heart! 💗 

After she slept, I had 1 last hearty phone call with my sis, little chat with another bestie and sharing of pictures in the friends and family groups!! My god! I have become such a social media junkie! I just had to reply to every wish, every message right then as I finished my share of the chocolate cake just before the day came to a close!! 

Amongst, the phone calls I was reminded that this is my last year of the 3rd decade and I couldn't understand the hoopla. Nevertheless, its gonna be a rocking year! That's for sure.. and I know when I write this post on my 40th, its going to bring another dimension to the simpleton life that I have chosen for myself!
